What Makes the Best Apartment Landing Page?

For a long time, the landing page has been one of the best tools in a PPC strategy to capture leads and get conversions. It’s that last step - after the Google search, after the PPC ad - that gets you the contact information of potential renters. But not every landing page is created equal, so what makes the best apartment landing page?

The Headline

Great landing pages are all about great user experience. Think about it: the purpose of a landing page is to have the most important, intriguing information right in one place, on one page, so the visitor doesn’t get lost and, more importantly, so they can easily complete the action you want them to.

The infamous headline - it should be one of the first things visitors see when they land on the page. They want to know exactly what they’re getting themselves into, and you want them to know exactly who you are. This would be a great place to have your
community name.

The Subheading

Next, right beneath your headline, should be your subheading. This should be a short, easily digestible description of what you’re offering. A helpful way to use the subheading might be to include your floor plans and location. For example, it could go something like “Modern 1, 2, & 3 bedroom apartments in Charlotte, NC.”

Take a look at how this apartment landing page makes use of the large, bolded headline and the smaller, but still bolded and noticeable subheading:

Eye-Catching Images & Video

According to Search Engine Land, 60% of consumers are more likely to choose listings and products that have high-quality images. It should go without saying that images and video are one of the most essential - if not, THE most essential - part of your website, your ads, and yes, your apartment landing page.

Aside from taking a tour, the images and videos you provide of your community are how your visitors get a visual representation of their future home. No one is going to bother submitting a contact form unless they like what they see, so you’ll need professionally edited, high-quality pictures front and center.

It’s best to have an image or two that visitors can see right away, and then some more down the page that they can look through when they scroll. Choose images that make you stand out above your competitors. What is your best selling point? How are your amenities different than others?

PRO TIP
: Put your most beautiful and enticing photo as the background or banner at the very top of your landing page so visitors can’t miss it. A lot of times, visitors decide within the first few seconds if they’ll stay on the page and won’t continue scrolling, so you’ll want to capture their attention right away.

Take the same landing page from above, for example. The banner photo showcases the living room and patio with beautiful lighting and aesthetically pleasing style, and then when you click the “Rent Specials” button, you’re taken further down the page where you can see a slideshow of even more stunning photography.

Strong CTAs

This brings us to the holy graIl - the Call to Action. The CTA is what brings the renters in. It’s how you get the leads from your apartment landing page. So how can you optimize your CTA?

Choose only a few, consistent CTAs, and don’t overcrowd the page with multiple.
Notice how this landing page has a huge contact form right at the top of the page and only a few other buttons. One goes to the community website, one goes down the page to the rent specials, and one pulls up more ways of contacting the community.

If you give too many options, visitors will be overwhelmed and may not take that next step.

The contact form should be the biggest and most noticeable element on your page. It should also have or be the strongest CTA. Make your submission button a bold color to stand out from the rest of the page, like how this one is red. It contrasts with the colors on the rest of the page and gives a sense of urgency.

Community Features

And lastly, you’ll want to showcase your community’s best features. Think about what sets you apart from other communities, what your current renters have liked the most, and what potential renters are always looking for.

This landing page includes a list of interior and community features, as well as a short tidbit about the location. Since location and amenities are usually the most important features to renters other than price, it is essential you have these on your landing page.

Of course, these aren’t the ONLY aspects of a landing page, but they’re the most important ones. Your landing page can have as much or as little information as you like, but always be sure to test the performance and see what works for your communities.
